There was a drum set in the basement of 11 year old Adam Hanson’s house. One that was pieced together only for his step-father’s weekly band practices. One day Hanson went down to bang on the drums. And if you ask him he’ll tell you.. “A part of me is still that 11 year old in that basement discovering something new. Ever since then I heard music differently, it changed me. It was like flipping a light switch. That’s what I wanted to do.”
Hanson grew up in the south coast of Massachusetts. While attending high school he was fortunate enough to take private drum lessons from local legend and Berklee College of Music professor, Jackie Santos. He would then go on to study world music performance at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. However, would end up attending and graduating from Berklee, with a degree in Music Business. While completing his degree Hanson found a particular taste for writing, production and engineering.
To complete his degree he had been required to take an internship that of which he did in Los Angeles, California. Shortly after the internship was completed he found himself working for David Ryan Harris (John Mayer). While at Harris’s studio he met many artists that lead him to start performing on a regular basis in the Los Angeles area.
Since Being in LA, Adam has had the chance to work with artists such as Shawn Mendes, RZA, Ariana Grande, Sky Blue (LMFAO), Banks and Steels and many others. He Also found himself working with the head of electronic music production on the Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer prize award winning hit broadway musical, Hamilton.
